A children’s illustrated rhyming story about the fantastic mutual relationship between two species and how they are entirely dependent on each other - obligate mutualism. Inspired by a five year old boy who took great pride in explaining to me what a digraph was. Taught to him by his grandma, he was thrilled each time he could explain something clever. I hope some find it fun to explain this peculiar natural science story to others. Includes a couple of additional poems "A bunch of idioms" and "Why insects are small".

Piper, the Parrot, and the Pig is a lighthearted, colorful tale of Piper and her two pals, Pedro the parrot and Penny the pig. Pedro speaks Spanish and has many personalities. Penny, the color of a dollar bill, enjoys rolling around in various substances, getting her into trouble with Piper. The three friends venture to town for a day of shopping and return home very tired.
